RICHARD BURTON - ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS KING HENRY COSTUME
A jacket, as seen worn by Richard Burton in the role of "King Henry VIII" in the historical drama film
Anne of the Thousand Days
(Universal Pictures, 1969).
The tan suede jacket bears a Nathans and Berman tag to the interior and comes with an Angels Costumiers tag attached that reads: "Richard Burton / Anne of the Thousand Days." It features gold-tone cord trim and period-correct finestrella sleeves with intricate hand-cut details.
The garment can be seen being worn by Burton as he walks with "Anne Boleyn" (Geneveive Bujold) in the castle gardens.
The film and Margaret Furse won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design, the only award it won at the ceremony, though it was nominated for nine others.
